Person-Centredness Seminar
Training Seminar, 8-9 March 2010, Brussels
Taking into account the progress of its members toward implementing cutting-edge person-centred services and the complexity of such processes, EPR organised a training seminar on Person-Centredness in Rehabilitation Services. The seminar took place on 8 and 9 March 2010, at EPR conference room in Brussels, Belgium. It was attended by 15 participants from all over Europe, and discussed the challenges and the opportunities for person-centred planning and services.
The participants clarified the definitions and implications of traditional system and person-centred services and explored the use of person-first language. The group was cast into the client’s position to reflect on the key questions to be answered while planning services, and to reflect on how to engage the client, their natural supports and the services providers in a coordinated approach to change and what their respective roles are.
