Multidisciplinary and Interdisciplinary Approach in Medical Rehabilitation
Action Learning Group, 24-25 November 2011, Mulhouse, France
On the 24-25 November a two day seminar took place in Mulhouse, France, the first of two meetings. The aim of the seminar was to discuss the demands placed upon EPR member organisations and how to address the link between the increase of services and the greater expectations for such services to continue. The seminar looked at the methods and tools which could be used to alleviate this demand through the adoption of collaborative strategies that involve personnel from multiple disciplines and organisational units within the Centres and related community providers.
The introductory training provided by this first meeting and faciliated by Johan Visser, addressed existing practices and problems between EPR centres and how to define an action plan for their own centre, how to implement the action plan by using ongoing monitoring and advice from afar that will be provided by the expert and action learning group.
The training laid the ground work for participants to gain a greater understanding of the multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary process within their centre, based on a patient/customer orientated approach, knowledge on how to make better use of resources, clarity of case management function, the improvement of cross-departmental co-operation within the mother organisation as well as addressing improvements in the continuity of service provision (internally and externally) and by adopting an enhanced user-friendly service provision.
