How to make inclusive education a reality? Mutual learning workshop

How to make inclusive education a reality? Mutual learning workshop

12 December 2017, Nijmegen, The Netherlands

From 9.00 to 17.00

The UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD) highlights inclusive education as a key right. EPR members working on the field of VET are looking for ways to support their students to get education tailored to their needs and for them to be as included as possible. For this to be doen, they look at ways to support students in mainstream education and at the same time, support mainstream schools on how to educate people with special needs.

EPR and REA College Pluryn will facilitate an international meeting for EPR members on the 12 of December 2017 in Nijmegen with the support of an external facilitator. Prior to the meeting, participating organisations will be asked to fill in a specific needs assessment and provide information about any existing practices. The overview of the practices would be circulated to participants in advance of the meeting.

The goal of the meeting is to exchange information, to get a more in-depth understanding of initiatives carried out by the participants of the meeting, and learn from the initiatives. Participants will also discuss a potential project application for 2018 as a follow up to the meeting, facilitating dialogue between students and decision makers on the topic of inclusive education.
