EPR Innovation Prize

2009 Winner

For its first edition, the Innovation Prize 2009 was awarded to the project Getting older together in Olsberg, developed by Josefsheim Bigge.

Tanja Schnellenpfeil presents her project to the EPR

Getting older together in Olsberg aims to “create a mutual social network for elderly people with and without disabilities. It is the first attempt to create a social network with equal participation of these two groups.” This is based on a recognition of the growth in the elderly population caused by demographical change and the improvement of living conditions.

The jury of the EPR Innovation Prize recognised Getting older together in Olsberg as a highly innovative project, with a high level of benefits and added value for its target groups. The selection was made upon the vote and decision of the KMC administrators group and on the basis of pre-defined criteria.

Tanja Schnellenpfeil, the manager of the project, was invited to the Innovation Prize Awarding Ceremony, organised during the EPR Annual Conference 2009 in Waterford, Ireland.

The Ceremony was a unique occasion for Tanja to present her project to a wide audience of rehabilitation professionals and top managers, and to receive the 1.000 Euro reward.

The Innovation Prize proved to be an uplifting event for all the participants, and a prestigious opportunity to promote a project and an EPR member organisation.

 Congratulations Tanja!

"The prize confirms that we are on the right way with our concept, and encourages us to develop and improve our services for older people with disabilities."

 Hubert Vernholt, Josefsheims Executive director
