Fundación ONCE
Fundación ONCE was set up in 1988 to promote co-operation with other groups of disabled people in order to improve their conditions in the Spanish society. The fundamental aims of Fundación ONCE are training and job creation for people with disabilities, the elimination of architectural and communication barriers and co-operation with other institutions.
Fundación ONCE has collaborated with government, companies, private individuals and associations of people with disabilities in the development of programmes and projects that provide people with disabilities with professional qualifications and access to the labour market, through training and the creation of stable jobs.
Fundosa, the business division of the Fundación ONCE consists of some 21 companies in 70 centres of employment with almost 12,000 employees of which 70% are people with disabilities. Fundación ONCE is financed by three percent of the annual gross revenue from sales of lottery tickets. This makes Fundación ONCE one of the main Spanish foundations and one of the foremost European foundations in the field of disability.
