Prometheus Project: Promoting Quality of Social Services of General Interest

European Awareness Conference

17 - 18 November 2010, Brussels, Belgium

The European Awareness Information Conference will mark the end of the Prometheus project and the official launch of the Common Quality Framework for Social Services of General Interest (SSGI). This final event is the unique opportunity to bring together all national and international stakeholders for 2 days of presentations, forum discussions and workshops about the Prometheus project developments and results.

Participants can expect a rich and exciting programme, with high-level speakers from all around Europe. The conference will be the place for exchanging best practices on how to implement a quality system in social services by using operational quality indicators. Participation to the conference includes an invitation to a complimentary Gala Dinner on Wednesday 17 November.

In line with the objectives of the Prometheus project, the conference will address in its first session the issue of defining quality for Social Services of General Interest and will launch the groundbreaking Common Quality Framework for SSGI, developed within Prometheus.

The second session will focus on the assessment and implementation of quality in 4 different sectors, including workshops on the pilot sites experiences in testing the quality principles developed within Prometheus.

Methods for improving quality of SSGI - including benchmarking and benchlearning - will be discussed during the last session of the conference, and a set of recommendations will be drawn to ensure an efficient deployment of the project’s results.
