Mission

 

The Mariehjemmene Foundation is a private, self-governing, not-for-profit organisation that offers homely housing, empathic health and social care, and professional support to people in need.

The Mariehjemmene Foundation wants to be a leading provider of welfare services and an active partner in civil society and local communities.

 

Target group


18 Marie Homes in Denmark – user groups:
6 Homes for elderly people (geriatric care)
3 Homes for people with mental illnesses (including a Home for mentally and socially vulnerable youth)
3 Homes for people with developmental disabilities (e.g. Autism Spectrum Disorders, visual impairment)
2 Homes for dual diagnoses and crime
2 Homes for people with acquired brain injuries
1 Home for multiple disabled people (+18 years)
1 Home for women in prostitution and drug and alcohol abuse

Develop our professional quality standards (quality development models and accreditation; welfare and communication technology; and stronger market development in public tenders)

 

Improve our leadership and management skills (quarterly directors’ meetings, biennial study tour; new intranet manual for board members, directors and staff; mentoring of new board members)

 

Strengthen our Boards of Directors (new bylaws for a more efficient Board; new intranet manual for board members in the Marie Homes;  biannual seminars for board members)

Exportable expertise

 

The Marie Homes have a broad experience in welfare service provision in a welfare state. We can offer expertise in:

- Geriatric and social care in a homely atmosphere
- Cross-disciplinary care and support to people with mental illnesses
- Neuro-pedagogical rehabilitation of and care for people with acquired brain injuries
- Recovery support and housing of people with dual diagnosis (drug and alcohol abuse and mental disorders) 

- Personal support, activities with and care of people in their own homes – also after their stay at a Marie Home.
- Start-up support to and friendly take-overs of social care institutions
- Administrational skills in social services (accounts, wage administration, HR, IT support and architecture, tenancy administration, property maintenance and management)
- Building administration (new developments and maintenance)
- Organisational development and strategy formulation
- Quality development
- Communication technology (BLISS, roll talk, pictograms, Sign (language) to Speech)
