Assistive Technology: Developments, Good Practices and Funds

Fondazione Don Gnocchi and EPR organized the event “Assistive Technology webinar: Developments, Good Practices and Funds” to raise awareness on the topic of assistive technologies, to present the latest developments in the sector, the good practices in service provision and the financing opportunities.

 

The event investigated the topic of assistive technology in its different aspects:

-> The SIVA and EASTIN platform was presented

->EPR members shared their good practices

->A representative of the W.H.O. illustrated their position on Assistive Technology.

->A representative of the European Commission offered a focus on funding opportunities for Assistive Technology in the period 2021-2027.

Aims of the event:

->Raise awareness on the topic of Assistive Technology, including the latest developments in the field, good practices and funding opportunities;

->Reinforce interest in the topic of AT within EPR;

->Connect to possible partners for future projects and explore topics for future EPR activities on the subject of AT

The UN convention on the rights of persons with disabilities established the obligation for signatories to promote and support assistive technologies, through research and development, information and training on the subject.

Assistive technology enables people to live healthily, to be autonomous, to have a dignified life and to participate in education, work and social life.
