European Commission AI Act simplification package
On 19 November 2025, the European Commission published a Simplification Package for the AI Act, which aims to simplify the implementation of certain requirements of this piece of legislation.
Different stakeholders advocating for digital rights (e.g. EDRi) have already underlined that such a simplification package could undermine oversight and transparency mechanisms and delay the requirements for high-risk AI without a clear timeline.
In EPR’s Public Webinar: AI for the delivery of services for persons with disabilities, available now on Youtube here, Kave Noori (Artificial Intelligence Policy Officer, European Disability Forum) underlined how EDF is currently working on analysing the potential impacts of the file, which EPR will share with its members.
