EPR EPSR Day ‘Services on social inclusion and early intervention for children’ (ONLINE)

Online 14th October 2020 10:00-12:30 CEST

The European Pillar of Social Rights (EPSR) is a key social initiative launched by the European Commission and aimed at improving the promotion and protection of social rights of EU residents.

It is structured in 20 principles divided in three categories, referring to equal opportunities and access to labour market, fair working conditions and social protection and inclusion.

One of its principles, number 11, refers to childcare and support to children. The principle states that:

  • Children have the right to affordable early childhood education and care of good quality.
  • Children have the right to protection from poverty.
  • Children from disadvantaged backgrounds have the right to specific measures to enhance equal opportunities.

This online event brought expertise from EPR members on early childhood education, presenting good practices and promoting an exchange, having as a framework the European Pillar of Social Rights. The in-person event would have taken place in Athens (Greece) hosted by EPR member Theotokos Foundation. They presented their work and expertise on the topic online.

Opened to EPR members only.

Due to COVID-19, the study visit was postponed.
