On 8 October 2025, the European Commission published two strategies to speed up AI uptake in European industry and science: the Apply AI Strategy and the AI in science Strategy.
The Apply AI Strategy aims to boost the adoption of AI across strategic sectors including healthcare, pharmaceuticals, energy, mobility, manufacturing, construction, agri-food, defence, communications and culture, as well as in the public sector.
The Apply AI Strategy also proposes measures and actions tackling challenges to AI development and adoption in the EU. One of the measures included is, for instance, enabling an AI-ready workforce (more information available here).
Moreover, as part of the Apply AI Strategy, the European Commission has created the Apply AI Alliance, a new governance structure that serves as a coordination forum for stakeholders and policy makers on AI policy (including public and private sector, civil society, social partners within others.) It is possible to become a member here, a website in which the latest updates on AI policy are shared by the European Commission and stakeholders.
In order to delve into the different parts of the Apply AI Strategy, the European Commission is organising a series of webinars explaining how the European Commission aims to boost the uptake of AI in the sectors covered in the Apply AI Strategy (more information available here). The first webinar on 12 November, will provide an overview of the Strategy (more information available here).
