CRM Mulhouse: Recent initiatives, targeted programs, and upcoming European activities

CAP Jeunes 16–25: Fostering the sustainable inclusion of young adults with disabilities

EPR member CRM Mulhouse (Mulhouse Rehabilitation Centre) has strengthened its specialised preparatory program, “CAP Jeunes 16–25.” This program is designed for young adults aged 16 to 25 facing recognised disabilities or complex health issues that hinder their social, educational, and professional paths.

Combining modular group workshops with personalised individual support, the program targets young people at risk of dropping out of school, those facing cognitive or psychological vulnerabilities, or those experiencing prolonged isolation. During a core 12-week phase (extendable up to 24 weeks), participants undergo a comprehensive vocational assessment, complete immersion internships in mainstream settings, strengthen their basic skills, and take part in civic engagement workshops. Supported by an integrated multidisciplinary team – including vocational guidance counselors, psychologists, social workers, and specialised educators – participants regain self-confidence, define concrete career plans, and gain access to mainstream vocational training or sustainable employment.

This initiative provides a local response to youth exclusion by securing their transition to adulthood and active citizenship. The team plays a central role in the CRM’s European strategy, currently the subject of a European project application (focusing on the well-being of youth workers supporting young people facing multiple vulnerabilities).

Remobilisation +55: Promoting active aging and sustainable employment for older workers

To address the combined challenges of aging, health issues, and long-term unemployment, CRM Mulhouse is rolling out the “Remobilisation +55” initiative. Designed specifically for job seekers and workers aged 55 and older who hold official recognition as a worker with a disability (RQTH), this dynamic 12-week program combats age-related employment vulnerability and fosters active inclusion.

The program combines weekly group sessions with individual coaching to rebuild professional self-esteem, update key skills (particularly digital administrative tools), and redefine realistic, physically viable career plans that take each participant’s health constraints into account. It also facilitates proactive connections with local employers and offers personalized guidance on retirement transition rights and workplace accommodations.

By leveraging peer support, valuing experience, and fostering targeted employer connections, “Remobilisation +55” demonstrates that tailored vocational rehabilitation and career guidance are essential at every stage of one’s working life.

European mobility in Munich (October 12–15): advancing the Europability project

As part of its international cooperation program, CRM Mulhouse will conduct a targeted study visit to Munich, Germany, from October 12 to 15, 2026, within the framework of the Europability project. This project aims to foster peer-to-peer learning across Europe, compare cross-border vocational rehabilitation methodologies, and design innovative pathways for young people and adults with disabilities as they transition into the education system and the open labor market.

Over the course of these four days of exchanges, the CRM delegation will meet directly with key stakeholders in the field of inclusion in Bavaria, including ICP München (a center specializing in the integration and rehabilitation of individuals with cerebral palsy or physical disabilities), the youth information and guidance network Jugend Information München, Munich’s municipal education authorities (Landeshauptstadt München, Referat für Bildung und Sport – Geschäftsbereich KITA), and the Franco-Bavarian cooperation platform Bayern-France. This visit will provide an opportunity to compare territorial cooperation practices, enrich the CRM’s training programs, and lay the groundwork for joint European cooperation initiatives.
