Jump To Job! Project – Final Dissemination Event

Mundo Madou, Avenue des Arts 8, 1210 Brussels, hosted by EPR 23 June, 9.30-12.45 CEST

The Final Dissemination Event for the Jump to Job! Project which deals with the training of peer mentors and job coaches for young people with disabilities (YPWD) is organised by EPR. It took place from 9:30 to 12:45 on the 23 June 2022 at Mundo Madou in Room Artemisia on the ground floor. Registration and coffee was available from 9.00.

It brought together all project partners, speakers and participants from partner organisations and the European Commission and EPR members. The project partners presented the main insights and project deliverables. The event allowed peer mentors and job coaches having done the training to share their experiences, what they have learnt, but also what could still be improved. We would like to reflect on the outcomes of the project with a representative of the European Commission and colleagues from partner organisations who will share their experiences. in a concluding session the links to EPR’s work will be identified and possible follow-up activities were discussed.

Background

Jump to Job! is a Erasmus + funded project coordinated by EPR in partnership with other six organisations including EPR members GTB (Belgium), Theotokos Foundation (Greece), URI (Slovenia) and Fundacion INTRAS (Spain) with the University College of Leuven Limburg (UCLL, Belgium) and LYK – Z (Norway). The project started in 2019 and will end in 2022. You find more information on the project on the dedicated project webpage on EPR’s website. The most recent outcomes are presented in the 3rd Project Newsletter.

Objectives

The event, organized in cooperation with GTB collaborating also with the Belgian network for Supported Employment is aimed to :

1) promote the outcomes and curricula of the project, including co-production;

2) promote the concept, resources and services of supported employment, within which framework the job coaches are operating;

3) discuss the issue of youth unemployment;

4) encourage networking among stakeholders.

The event will include a session presenting the curriculum, e-learning platform and key theories behind it, including motivation and co-production. One or more peer mentors would contribute to this session with testimony and explanation.

This would be followed by a session with key national and European stakeholders discussing youth unemployment and the role of supported employment and EU funding in addressing it, addressing the relevant programmes under the future ESF+ framework;

The last session would be aimed at job coaches and organisations employing job coaches and would train participants on one part of the first module of the course. The event will be designed so that participants, particularly job coaches and representatives, can hear from a practical perspective and discuss how they can incorporate the material into their own training and educational toolbox with peers. The organizations interested in replicating the course will receive a printed copy of the training implementation guide;

The event will also facilitate networking among the participants, particularly among job coaches, so that they may form an informal support network after the project.

The event aims to attract representatives of employers, as well as service providers, organizations and players within the education and employment sector such as service providing organizations, VET training providers, Europe-wide associations and networks, policy and decision makers.
