LMI.04Dis_ABLED project: Digital Careers Information System and Tailored Training for Service Providers

The LMI (Labour Market Information) Project, funded by the Erasmus Plus Programme, focuses on providing up-to-date, accessible information on career opportunities through digital resources and interactive tools. The project is set to conclude in December 2024, and project partners are currently testing the two following deliverables:

A Future-Oriented Digital Careers Information System

At the heart of the LMI project is the Digital Careers Information System, a user-friendly digital platform designed to support persons with disabilities (PWDs) in their career exploration. This all-digital platform integrates cutting-edge technologies and accessibility features to ensure that people with various disabilities can easily navigate and access crucial information for career planning, upskilling, and employment opportunities.

The platform is structured as a “career path game,” guiding users through different career stages, from skills and interests assessment to career navigation. As participants progress through each stage, they receive digital career badges and appraisals, rewarding their achievements along the way.

Key components of the Digital Career System include:

  • STEP 1: Skills & Interest Interface – Assess and align personal skills and interests with potential career paths.
  • STEP 2: Career Information Interface – Access detailed career data and future opportunities.
  • STEP 3: Career Navigation Interface – Find pathways to navigate the labour market with confidence.
  • STEP 4: Career Interaction Interface – Engage with career resources and communication tools.

The system also integrates innovative technologies such as VR/360 videos for immersive learning experiences, accessible via the website and VR glasses. A chatbot and online community will provide synchronous and asynchronous support, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.

Tailored Training for Service Providers

Alongside the digital platform, the LMI project also focuses on equipping service providers, job coaches, and professionals working in supported employment, rehabilitation, and related services with the tools and knowledge they need to better assist PWDs.

The project has developed a Tailor-Made Training Curriculum, designed to upskill these professionals in the use of Labour Market Information (LMI) tools and provide them with best practices for career guidance and employment inclusion for PWDs. The training prepares professionals to support PWDs in their journey toward full and active participation in the labour market.

The training modules and the Digital Careers Information System are currently being tested by project partners to ensure they meet the needs of both PWDs and professionals alike, aiming for seamless integration and impact.
