Mindful Mondays: Good practices in maintaining “good” mental health & well-being in services for people with disabilities

In comparison to other areas of health and care, mental health is still a relatively “young” topic, with numerous unknowns and limited understanding for cause and effect of conditions. Through the EPR Mental Health Working Group, experts and service-providers to persons with disabilities from across Europe regularly exchange knowledge, monitor trends in service provision, and share good practices while following policy and research developments at national, European and international levels.

Building on previous work addressing mental health during the COVID-19 pandemic and other service challenges, in this paper Working Group members share insights from the daily work in their organisations and debates in the group. It explores the conditions and approaches to addressing mental health issues before they become a problem, as well as good practices that bring mental health into a broader context of supporting persons with multiple needs for assistance.
