The COFACE Disability Platform published a policy brief on improving support for children with disabilities

In the context of the 2022 International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the COFACE Disability Platform launched a policy brief analysing how children with disabilities are represented in European Social Policy Frameworks. The policy brief aims to explore the intersection between disability and age and how to better integrate it into policies. Children with disabilities are at the intersection of various policy fields adopted in the context of the European Pillar of Social Rights, and their rights are covered simultaneously by different programmes such as the EU Disability Strategy, the Strategy for the Rights of the Child, the EU Care Strategy and the European Child Guarantee. This is an opportunity to advance their rights, however the policy brief stresses the need to address intersecting vulnerabilities in EU social policies and improve policy coordination.
