The European Parliament and the Council of the EU agreed on the Path to the Digital Decade

The Council of the European Union and the European Parliament reached a preliminary agreement on the Path to the Digital Decade, a policy programme setting out and monitoring the concrete actions to deliver the digital transformation of the EU by 2030. The programme is a next step in the Europe’s Digital Decade initiative and supports the implementation of Digital Compass launched in March 2021, which set the vision and direction for the development of Europe in the areas of digital skills, digitisation of public services and companies and secure and sustainable digital infrastructures. Both documents stress the importance of making the transformation inclusive for all and human-centred and of making health and care services accessible online for everyone, including persons with disabilities, together with personalised tools with high privacy standards.
