Trends, Inequalities, and COVID-19 Impact on Vocational Training in Enterprises in the EU
In February 2026, CEDEFOP published the Research Paper “Continuing vocational training in enterprises in the EU”.
This report presents a comparative statistical analysis of skills development through continuing vocational training (CVT) in EU enterprises, using data from the Continuing Vocational Training Survey (CVTS). The analysis focuses on data about the provision and financing of CVT, collected during the latest survey round, for 2020, and compares them with the data collected in 2015. It also devotes particular attention to the gap in CVT activity between small and large enterprises, with the engagement of small and medium-sized enterprises largely determining the overall level of CVT.
