Autherapies Project: Empowering Autism Support Through Evidence-Based Training

We are excited to share the latest developments in the Autherapies project, funded by the Erasmus Plus Programme and coordinated by Fundació Villablanca (Spain), with partners EPR (Belgium), Medical University of Silesia (Poland), Open Europe (Spain), and Istituto dei Sordi di Torino (Italy). This important initiative is focused on enhancing the knowledge and skills of professionals, people with autism, and their families by providing comprehensive training on evidence-based therapies for people with autism.

Development of Online Training Courses

The Autherapies team is currently developing a series of online training courses aimed at delivering accessible, high-quality education to its diverse audience. These courses are designed to provide participants with a solid understanding of therapies and treatments that are grounded in scientific evidence, ensuring that families and professionals can make informed decisions about the care and support of individuals with autism.

Objectives of the Training

The primary goal of these courses is to offer a comprehensive understanding of evidence-based therapies for autism, particularly for working professionals, families, and people with autism themselves. The training will:

  • Explore the fundamental principles of various therapies
  • Assess their effectiveness and applicability in different contexts
  • Encourage informed decision-making in selecting treatments tailored to individual needs

By equipping participants with up-to-date knowledge, Autherapies aims to foster a collaborative approach to the care and well-being of people with autism, encouraging close cooperation between families, professionals, and people with autism.

Engaging and Interactive Learning

The training courses will include:

  • Interactive activities to engage participants actively
  • Case studies to provide practical insights
  • Discussions on recent research to ensure that learners are equipped with the most current information

This approach will create a dynamic learning space where participants can share experiences, ask questions, and deepen their understanding of autism therapies.

Stay tuned for more updates on the Autherapies project as we continue to advance the tools and knowledge needed to enhance autism care across Europe.
