On the 27th of June, the World Health Organisation (WHO) Regional Office Europe, released a statement about the current health state of the European population and possible threats. Covid-19 and long-covid still pose challenges, together with extreme heat, and monkeypox infections. WHO emphasized the need for collective action, individual behaviour changes and the importance of addressing long Covid through research, diagnostics, and treatment. Vaccination remains crucial in combating COVID-19 and monkeypox infections, while measures to mitigate the impact of extreme heat are necessary. Ultimately, resource allocation and public health measures are urgently needed. By doing so, societies can enhance resilience and better prepare for future crises.
