Fundación ONCE’s “Women in ON Mode” Program for Victims of Gender Violence, awarded with the Queen Letizia National Disability Award

The Queen Letizia National Disability Awards recognise the contribution of individuals and organisations in the field of inclusion, full citizenship and effective enjoyment of the rights of persons with disabilities.

Queen Letizia of Spain presented the prize to Virginia Carcedo, Secretary General of the ONCE Foundation and Inserta Empleo (ONCE Foundation Employment Services), in the category of gender equality and eradication of violence against women and girls with disabilities for the project ‘Women in ON Mode’.

This initiative, promoted by Inserta Empleo and co-financed by the European Social Fund, was recognised for raising social awareness about gender-based violence experienced by women with disabilities.

The program aims at fighting against gender violence, through the life stories of the participants, and promote their social inclusion and empowerment at all levels through employment and entrepreneurship.
