Mission & Vision

The NIHDI-INAMI-RIZIV is a key player in social security with a double mission.

1. We make sure that every people insured under the social security system has access to the necessary quality health care (accessibility) and obtains reimbursement. This healthcare must be efficient and provided at the agreed rates.
2. We ensure that people covered by the social security system, both, unemployed, employees and self-employed, receive an adequate replacement income in case of work incapacity. We ensure that they are offered real opportunities for reintegration during/ after work incapacity We manage the company’s resources for health care and indemnity insurance.

For that, we support health care providers (doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, hospitals, nursing homes, etc.) and sickness funds.

We make sure that the use of these is effective, in particular with the respect of legal obligations by all stakeholders.
