RAITI: Rehabilitation. Support. Inclusion. Further Education

The EU Recovery and Resilience Facility Fund project “RAITI: Rehabilitation. Support. Inclusion. Further Education.” developed a methodology and competence development program for informal caregivers – family members, neighbours, friends, and volunteers, who are taking care of a person with functional disabilities in their everyday life. The content of the competence program is designed in such a way that informal caregivers can provide appropriate support and care to persons with functional impairments, as well as be able to take care of their own needs and psycho-emotional well-being.

The methodology and competence development program was developed by SIA “AC Konsultācijas” in cooperation with SIVA specialists and discussing with NGOs and experts from various sectors on the content of training, and current issues, to create training content adapted to various types of functional disorders. The competence development program is modular and easily adaptable to fit the different needs of informal carers.

Next steps: Training of informal caregivers will be provided by SIVA specialists: physiotherapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, educators, etc. The training will take place in SIVA, with various practical tasks in order to improve the skills, competences and knowledge of informal caregivers. In the future, it is planned to offer separate modules of the training in regions closer to the place of residence of the informal caregivers.
