Tea evening with a career counsellor is an initiative from SIVA’s expert in the career support field. It is a free time activity that aims to improve learners’ career skills such as willingness to take responsibility, flexibility, self-initiative, persistence, time management, willingness to improve their results based on feedback, respect towards others, cooperation, persuasion, facilitating discussions, analysing facts and situations and using creative thinking in creating appropriate solutions, the ability to present oneself, to be aware of one’s abilities, talents, strengths and weaknesses.
The tea evening activity is not a part of vocational rehabilitation, but it is an additional option for SIVA clients to participate in career guidance activities through the gaming approach which allows our students to listen to each other and search for answers within themselves, encourages the desire to speak openly and freely, recognize their inner boundaries, and limitations, allows them to be aware of their resources and abilities, promotes motivation, the desire to get involved, socialization and a sense of joy.
The tea evening activities take place in a group and promote active participation, co-responsibility and group work. The event takes place once in two weeks which allows students to get prepared for the upcoming event, make a reflection on the previous activity and set goals in terms of career development paths. SIVA clients find this free time with added value activity as a successful way to get to know themselves in a fun and entertaining way.
