The European Parliament had its say on Artificial Intelligence’s threats and opportunities
The European Parliament has published its reflections on the benefits and threats posed by Artificial Intelligence (AI). AI has the potential to enhance health care, improve product development and customer service, increase efficiency in public services, strengthen democracy, and aid in crime prevention and defense strategies. However, misuse of AI can lead to missed opportunities and economic stagnation, while overuse can result in ineffective applications and potential biases. Transparency is a challenge and regulations should strike a balance between accountability and innovation. Finally, education and training are crucial to address job displacement caused by AI and ensure a skilled workforce.
