The World Health Organization (WHO) published its final report on its mission, taking place last July, on the state of technical support and rehabilitation services in Ukraine. The findings highlight how the beginning of the war jeopardized an already in-distress health care system. In general, the main challenges are the lack of human resources, specialized rehabilitation services for various conditions, community services and outpatient structures and literacy and awareness about rehabilitation practices. The ongoing conflict raised preoccupations about the status of the health care system and rehabilitation services since the number of patients is destined to raise in the future. Moreover, the ongoing conflict rendered access to health structures and the so-needed policy and legislative developments more challenging. Ultimately, the WHO stresses the necessity to boost these services and accompany them with digital registers to increase efficiency, accountability and monitoring of patients.
