The Cedefop report, “Untangling labour shortages in Europe: unmet skill demand or bad jobs?” highlights that persistent labour shortages in the EU are driven by both unmet skill demands and the quality of available jobs. Key issues include the need for better working conditions and more effective skills matching. For persons with disabilities, the report suggests that improving job accessibility and creating supportive work environments are essential to addressing these shortages and ensuring equal employment opportunities. Clearly, high quality services are conducive to the fulfilment of these goals. This is why EPR is actively engaged to contribute to the Disability Employment Package, currently working closely with the European Commission to provide inputs to develop the upcoming Framework for Social Services of Excellence.
