InDiCo Final Conference

Mark your calendar for the InDiCo Final Conference, taking place on 25 September 2026 from 10:30 to 13:45 CEST.

This final event will bring together policymakers, practitioners, and experts to explore how digital competences can foster inclusion, particularly for people with learning difficulties, and to share the key achievements of the InDiCo project.

The project

The InDiCo: Increase Digital Competences to Promote Inclusion project is an Erasmus+ funded initiative aimed at fostering the digital inclusion of persons with learning difficulties across Europe. In an increasingly digital society, this group risks being marginalised due to barriers in accessing and using digital technologies – barriers that affect their participation in education, employment, social services, and everyday life. The project responds to the European Commission’s digital strategy, which sets a target of ensuring that at least 80 % of EU citizens aged 16–74 have basic digital skills by 2030, and recognises that persons with learning difficulties are particularly vulnerable to exclusion from this objective.

The project addresses the identified gaps by developing tailored methodologies and tools that enable competence-based assessment, training and validation of digital skills and by supporting educators and organisations in adopting inclusive approaches that align with the EU’s Digital Competence Framework for Citizens (DigComp).

What to expect

The conference will feature:

  • Opening remarks from the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC)
  • A keynote speech by David Mekkaoui (All Digital) setting the scene for digital inclusion
  • An engaging panel discussion on rethinking digital competences for inclusive societies, followed by audience Q&A
  • A presentation of the InDiCo project achievements, including its competence framework, methodology, and training approach
  • Testimonials from participants and educators sharing real-life learning journeys
  • A session on the future of digital inclusion, including policy recommendations

Participants will also have opportunities to take part in interactive moments, exchange experiences, and connect with stakeholders working at the intersection of digital skills and inclusion.
